Brent Cook, 49, of Marietta, is accused of attempting to run over a woman with a 2011 Lexus IS250 on Sept. 4 at 9:52 p.m. in the east side parking lot of Walmart, 210 Cobb Parkway in Marietta, according to an arrest warrant from the Marietta Police Department.
Cook accelerated out of the parking spot toward the victim. Within 10 feet of her, he slowed his vehicle, turning his wheel to the right, and accelerating southbound through the parking lot. He then accelerated northbound through the west side of the parking lot in the direction of another woman, who had to jump laterally in order to avoid being struck. This victim’s Belgian Malinois service dog, valued at $25,000, had to also run out of the way of the vehicle, according to the warrant.
Cook is charged with two counts of aggravated assault – intent to murder; criminal damage – second degree; and two counts of terroristic threats. He was arrested on Sept. 5 at 7:50 a.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records…
