A Georgia Woman Mouthed ‘Help Me’ to Police Who Showed Up at the Front Door. She Saved Herself and Daughter From Hostage Holder

A Northeast Atlanta, Georgia , mother and daughter were removed from a hostage situation after the mother reportedly mouthed a plea to authorities who arrived at her door.

The Atlanta Police Department provided details on the incident in a press release over the weekend. The department stated that officers were dispatched to a residence in Northeast Atlanta on Friday after receiving a tip about a domestic dispute .

When officers arrived at the scene around 10 p.m., they were met with a lady who was reportedly uncooperative, but before they left, she mouthed “help me,” according to the press release.

The woman did not let officers inside, so they called hostage negotiators to the apartment. A SWAT team also established a perimeter around the residence on Piedmont Avenue.

The 34-year-old suspect, identified as Andre Ross, eventually surrendered without further incident, per the press release.
