Atlanta church set to build 170-unit affordable housing tower behind sanctuary

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Atlanta First United Methodist Church has submitted permits to build a 170-unit affordable housing tower in the heart of downtown Atlanta. “We asked the big question, what is so big that without God it’s bound to fail. And the congregation said we’ve got to figure out how to house people,” said Rev. Jasmine Rose Smothers, lead pastor at the Atlanta First UMC.
