SUNDAY’S WEATHER Heavy storms, some relief in the afternoon

Sunday will start and end with rainfall.

The overnight hours will see light rain, but scattered showers with some pockets of heavy rain will start around 5 a.m. Temperatures will be mild, and metro Atlanta will only get down to 58 degrees in the morning, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Jennifer Lopez.

More widespread showers will come between 8 a.m. and noon. The downpour with then temporarily halt during the middle of the day and return around 7 p.m.

Those afternoon hours may still see some isolated showers, but it’s a good time to take a stroll outside to avoid being cooped up all day. Temperatures will reach the mid-60s.

Evening storms will be strong and then continue overnight and into Monday morning.

“Areas across all of North Georgia could see up to an inch of rain (by Sunday evening),” Lopez said.
