Woodstock Man Charged With String of Thefts in Cherokee County

A Woodstock man has been arrested after authorities say he committed a string of thefts in Cherokee County over two days, taking cash, an iPad, video game consoles and other items.

Evan Apollo Walsh, 29, of Woodstock, was arrested Saturday by the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office with 19 felony charges: 10 counts of entering automobile or other motor vehicle with intent to commit theft, three counts of criminal attempt to commit entering into an automobile, two counts of criminal attempt to commit burglary, two counts of home burglary, one count of burglary with intent to commit a theft/felony, and one count of giving a false name, address, or birthdate to a law enforcement officer, according to his arrest warrants.

According to his arrest warrants, Walsh stole $350 in cash from two separate cars, an Apple iPad, prescription Ray-Ban sunglasses, and two pairs of Gucci sunglasses. He is also accused of attempting to enter other vehicles to steal more items.

Walsh is also accused of breaking into two homes, stealing items from one house totaling $2,400 in value, and taking a PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series X and its accessories from another home, according to the warrants. He is also accused of giving law enforcement a fake name and birthdate. The alleged incidents took place between Friday and Saturday.
