2024 HBCU NY Classic Will Feature Morehouse College Vs. Howard University

The combatants of the inaugural football game, Morehouse College and Howard University, will return to play in the 2024 HBCUNY Classic at MetLife Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 14. Kick-off will be at 3:00 PM ET.

The annual event in the Big Apple will bring together the rich traditions and competitive spirits of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), celebrating their athletic prowess and vibrant cultures.   Howard defeated Morehouse 30-0 in the first installment of the classic.

“We are thrilled to host the HBCUNY Classic once again at MetLife Stadium,” Albert Williams, President & CEO of Sports Eleven05 LLC, and producer of the HBCUNY Classic said.

The HBCUNY Classic will feature two prestigious institutions known for their academic and athletic excellence. The event promises a thrilling afternoon of football, where audiences can witness these talented student-athletes.

Morehouse College recently hired head coach Terance Mathis. The former NFL player will pit his wits against Larry Scott, who took Howard University to the 2023 Celebration Bowl. Unfortunately, the Bison were the runners-up to Floriday, but Howard hopes to reclaim the HBCUNY Classic title.
