New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell, who has been criticized for a heavy travel schedule, is on the road again: She’s attending the 10th annual African American Mayors Association Conference in Atlanta.

“This is an invaluable opportunity to interact and share best practices with officials and business leaders on common interests and challenges, which can then be put into practice in cities across the country,” the mayor’s office said in a statement.

Cantrell, a member of the AAMA board of trustees, is taking part in meetings, panel discussions and policy sessions, including one titled ‘Transformative Leadership: Building Climate Resilient & Economically Thriving Cities.’

Other topics include technology & innovation, health & education and economic development.
