Publix and Sprouts to Expand in Georgia with New Stores

The two supermarket chains have plans to extend their reach in the Peach State.

Publix, which is headquartered in neighboring Florida, has announced plans on its website for a new location in Gainesville, GA. The nearly 55,000-square-foot market will be located at 2155 Limestone Ridge NE in the Limestone Marketplace. The store is scheduled to open on September 10th. Gainesville is about an hours drive north east of downtown Atlanta.

Sprouts Farmers Market, headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, also has plans for the state. They’ve announced a new location in Stockbridge, GA, at the intersection of Jodeco Rd. and Mt. Olive Rd. The grand opening is set for November 15. Stockbridge, located 37 miles southeast of Atlanta, will host the 17th Sprouts location in Georgia. For comparison, Publix boasts over 200 stores in the state.
