Mixed-Use Development Proposed for Fayetteville

A large mixed-use development is envisioned for Fayetteville.

A recent Development of Regional Impact (DRI) filing details the vision for the 38.5-acre site on Grady Avenue.

Fayetteville City Center could include about 34,000 square feet of retail space, a 12,000-square-foot grocery store, a 120-room hotel and about 14,000 square feet of office space. Residential space is proposed as well, with 700 multifamily residential units, 48 townhomes and 39 single-family homes in the plan.

Minneapolis-based architecture and design firm Nelson Worldwide is working on the project. The firm’s portfolio includes the highly regarded mixed-use destinations Avalon and The Battery .

The overall Fayetteville project is estimated to be complete in 2030, with the initial phase planned to be complete in 2027, according to the filing.

Fayetteville is located in Fayette County, south of Atlanta.
