Georgia’s Most Vibrant Fall Colors Moving Southward in Early November

If you missed much of the peak fall colors this past weekend in Northern-most Georgia, don’t worry: there’s still plenty more leaf peeping to enjoy in other parts of Georgia.

According to the website explorefall.com, much of Georgia’s northern mountains reached or approached their peak color displays during November’s first weekend. But the site’s fall foliage predictor map shows that high colors and peak colors will remain visible in other parts of Georgia during the coming week and next weekend.

Georgian’s can expect to see peak colors from North Georgia down to the Atlanta area this week through Sunday, Nov. 10. From Atlanta down to Savannah, the state will exeperience what the site describes as “high” colors — mostly yellows and golds with lesser amounts of red and rust colors.

Some of the best sites to see Georgia’s leaves on full display are at state parks. Georgia’s Department of Natural Resources suggests the following parks for best leaf viewing from Nov. 3 through Nov. 10:
