Tennessee volleyball is going dancing again.
The Lady Vols (15-11) earned an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament and will face No. 7 seed Georgia Tech (20-9) in the first round at 5:30 p.m. ET Thursday. No. 2 seed Wisconsin will host the first two rounds, and UT would face the winner of Wisconsin and Fairfield if it advanced to the second round. Co-Big Ten champion Nebraska is the No. 1 seed in the Vols’ portion of the bracket.
This is the Vols’ fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance under coach Eve Rackham Watt , who’s in her seventh season at the helm. It’s the 19th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history.
The Lady Vols were 8-8 in the SEC this season, tied for sixth with Oklahoma.
Tennessee struggled at times after losing four starters from last season’s Sweet 16 team. But it still finished in the top half of a competitive SEC that included back-to-back reigning national champion Texas and the Sooners this season.
