JONESBORO — A defendant who was recently found guilty of a 2021 fatal shooting will be spending the rest of his life in prison.
The Clayton County District Attorney’s Office announced Monday, Dec. 30 the conviction and sentencing of Shamel Quinton Crowder, 24, who was accused of a Dec. 20, 2021 shooting that ended in the death of Geoffrey Canty, 19.
Crowder was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole plus 25 years to serve in confinement. A Clayton County jury found Crowder guilty of malice murder, two counts of felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime…
