Is more snow headed to Georgia this week? The National Weather Service and other experts say it is a possibility. Here’s what to know.

Will it snow in Georgia this week?

The NWS issued a winter weather advisory, beginning 1 a.m. on Wednesday and expiring on Thursday at 1 a.m. The Advisory is for northern parts of the state, following a line from Rome to Gainesville and up.

According to the NWS, those areas are expected to get about half an inch of snow, but the main hazards are dangerous roadways.

“Light snowfall could lead to some slick spots on the roadways in north Georgia on Wednesday,” according to NWS meteorologists.

Other parts of the state will see rainfall, but totals will be “modest,” reaching only about 0.25 inches. As far as other hazards, thunderstorms and flooding aren’t expected to be a concern.
