MARIETTA, Ga. — The son of a woman who died in the Cobb County jail this week is speaking out, disputing claims by the sheriff’s office that his mother was homeless and had no known family contacts.
Bunnie Large, 42, died while in custody at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, where she had been held since January on a felony shoplifting charge. The Cobb County Sheriff’s Office initially stated that Large was homeless and had not provided any emergency contact information during her booking.
However, her 22-year-old son, Jarvis Savage claims he was listed as her emergency contact and had been in communication with her during her time in jail. He said she expressed that to him on the phone before her death and is now publicly disputing the narrative that his mother had no family and is calling for accountability…
