Upper Crust Bakery Bread Recalled Due to Glass Fragments

A recall has been issued for several types of Upper Crust Bakery bread due to the potential presence of glass fragments. The affected products were sold in California, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

The recalled products include:

  • Ancient Grains Hoagie rolls (4-ounce containers, Lot #90)
  • Multigrain Sourdough rolls (18-ounce containers, Lot #90)
  • Whole Grain Multigrain rolls (20-ounce containers, Lot #92)

All recalled products were packaged in corrugated paper cartons and sold frozen. The FDA has classified this as a Class II recall, indicating a potential for temporary or medically reversible health problems. Consuming glass fragments could cause injuries to the mouth, throat, and intestines, or pose a choking hazard.

Consumers who have purchased these products should discard them immediately in a secure trash can or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. A total of 818 cases of bread are affected by the recall, with the majority being the 18-ounce multigrain sourdough rolls. Upper Crust Bakery notified the FDA of the issue on April 12th.
