ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for northwest Georgia until 11pm. A line of strong to severe storms will push into northwest Georgia through the evening. The strongest storms could produce large hail and damaging winds up to 65mph. On top of that, frequent lightning and heavy rain will be possible. The line of storms will weaken as it moves into metro Atlanta through the evening.
First Alert Weather Day: More storms Saturday
A cold front will move through the state on Saturday and bring multiple rounds of showers and storms throughout the early afternoon and evening. The first round of rain is expected by lunch Saturday with a second round of showers and storms expected Saturday evening.
