Arrests made for drugs, illegal firearms during police checkpoints

Two safety checkpoints held in April led to DeKalb County police making multiple arrests, as well as seizing illegal firearms and more than one pound of drugs.

DeKalb County Police Department’s (DKPD) Special Operations Division conducted the Spring Operation Safety Checkpoints on April 11 and April 25, during which multiple units at the department worked together to screen drivers for valid licenses, registration, insurance, impaired driving, and equipment violations, while also distributing educational materials on traffic safety.
