Decatur voids some school zone speeding tickets after resident catches typo in sign

DECATUR, Ga. — A Decatur resident with an eagle eye convinced the city to void an unknown number of people’s speeding tickets after he noticed a typo in a sign posted in the Beacon Hill Middle School zone.

Brian Grow, a longtime resident of Decatur, received a $100 ticket after being accused of going 37 miles per hour during school hours, when the school speed limit was 25 miles per hour.

“The posted timeframe on the signs says 25 mph ends at 4:35 p.m.,” he said. “Our alleged violation was at 4:41 p.m.”…
