ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Riverdale police are trying to identify a person who stole an elderly woman’s purse earlier this month.
On May 2, police were called to a business in the area of Valley Hill Road and Upper Riverdale Road. The victim said the female suspect approached her and said her mother had just passed away, so the 82-year-old gave her $60 for food.
When the victim sat down, the suspect snatched her purse from her walker and ran away, according to police. The purse had her ID cards, cash and other belongings.
“We have zero tolerance for those who victimize our residents,” Riverdale Police Chief Todd Spivey said. “Targeting a vulnerable member of our community is unacceptable, and we are committed to identifying and locating the individual responsible.”…
