ATLANTA — Big Lots is back. Five stores in Georgia reopened Thursday as part of the national discount retailer’s second wave of store relaunches, led by new owner Variety Wholesalers.
The comeback includes more than 70 stores reopening across the U.S. this week, with additional locations expected to open through early June. A grand reopening celebration is planned at all stores this fall.

Variety Wholesalers President and CEO Lisa Seigies said in a release that stores may start small, but shelves will continue to fill as they build toward the fall celebration.
