This month saw a slew of restaurant closures around town. Here are the key ones to note.
- Chef Pat Pascarella’s Bastone is the latest restaurant to close in West Midtown, according to an Instagram announcement from the eatery. Bastone was open for three years.
- Mac Lab Bakery and Cafe closed in Duluth on May 4. In an emotional video on Instagram, owner Lan Cheng says she had “been feeling deeply burnt out. And despite trying different paths, I haven’t found a sustainable way to grow it further. All of that was easily amplified after COVID. I figured I should rest, heal, and figure out what’s next that’s best for my family.” The bakery was open for 10 years and was known for its whimsical macarons.
