‘Our daughter almost died’ | Decatur parents demand accountability after 4-year-old left alone on hot school bus

DECATUR, Ga. — A Decatur couple is pressing charges against a school bus driver after their 4-year-old daughter was left alone for over an hour on a hot bus, terrified and soaked through with sweat, in what her parents say could have ended in tragedy.

Magan and Eugene say their daughter, Coco, who attends SoulShine Decatur, was left behind on the school bus Monday afternoon after falling asleep in the back seat. The temperature that day reached 89 degrees.

By the time she woke up, Coco was alone on the locked bus, parked in the school’s lot. The child eventually escaped through the emergency exit and walked by herself to the daycare entrance, where she was discovered visibly distressed…
