Coalition formed after man killed in encampment sweep withdraws from Atlanta’s homelessness task force

ATLANTA — The Justice for Cornelius Taylor Coalition — which formed after a man was killed during a homeless encampment sweep earlier this year — has decided to pull out of the City of Atlanta’s homelessness task force.

In a news release, the coalition said the decision came after “extensive deliberation and increasing frustration,” claiming there was an unwillingness to address some of the issues related to the city’s approach to homelessness.

“Our system for addressing homelessness is broken and this Task Force only seeks to put a band-aid on a major wound,” the news released…
