Rain expected for Memorial Day weekend, but forecast isn’t a total washout

Keep your Memorial Day weekend plans flexible. Showers are expected across metro Atlanta through the first half of next week.

“We are tracking a fairly active weather pattern,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Ashley Kramlich said. “Each day of the weekend will bring in the chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms, (but) overall, a very low severe weather threat.”

You will likely have to dodge showers or thunderstorms if you have outdoor plans, so keep your rain gear on hand and have a few backup activities in mind.
