13 convicted in human trafficking case after missing Missouri teen recovered in Georgia

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — What began with the search for one missing teenager in Missouri led to a sweeping human trafficking investigation in Georgia that ended with 13 convictions, including both sex traffickers and the people who paid to exploit the victims.

It all started inside a Travelodge off I-75 in College Park.

In August 2020, U.S. Marshals rescued a 17-year-old girl during Operation Not Forgotten — a joint recovery mission led by the U.S. Marshals Service and Georgia law enforcement.
