MARIETTA — As of 5:45 p.m. Friday, more than eight hours into closed-door mediation, the city of Mableton and the Cobb County government had not yet reached a consensus on the value of services the county provides to the new city’s residents.
If leaders fail to reach an agreement before June 1, the county and all municipal governments in Cobb could be slapped with state sanctions.
State law requires Mableton to be incorporated into the county’s Service Delivery Strategy (SDS) agreement when the new city’s two-year transition phase comes to a close next month…
