Atlanta, Georgia – A round of potentially severe thunderstorms could rattle much of Georgia beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday, bringing the threat of damaging winds and large hail through early Sunday morning.
According to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) covers a broad area of central and northern Georgia, including Atlanta, Macon, and Columbus. Storms are expected to become more intense after sunset, with gusts exceeding 60 mph and quarter-sized hail possible through 5 a.m. Sunday.
Cities including LaGrange, Athens, Warner Robins, and Dublin are also under the Level 1 risk zone. While the tornado threat remains low, a brief spin-up can’t be ruled out.
