Atlanta, Georgia – The City of Atlanta is letting residents aware that the regular schedule for picking up solid waste will be different on Memorial Day. The city’s Department of Public Works has confirmed that there will be no pickup of garbage, recycling, yard trimmings, or bulk goods on Monday, May 26, 2025, in observance of the holiday.
All solid waste collection services, including trash and recycling, will be moved back one day for the whole week because of the closure on Memorial Day. This implies that if your regular pickup is on Monday, it will now be on Tuesday, and so forth. If your regular day is Friday, your collection will happen on Saturday, May 31 instead. City authorities are requesting everyone to put their bins out by 7:00 a.m. on the day of their modified pickup so that nothing gets missed.
This change to the timetable is only for the week of the holiday. On Monday, June 2, 2025, normal service will resume as usual. The city wants everyone to plan ahead and inform their neighbors so that no one gets surprised by the change…
