Violence erupted on the streets of Atlanta yesterday evening, just as the city’s denizens found themselves in the nightly hustle. At around 6:37PM, Atlanta Police Department officers rushed to the intersection of Northside Drive SW and Martin Luther King Junior Drive NW after reports came in of a shooting incident. Upon their arrival, officers discovered a 31-year-old man wounded by gunfire.
According to the Atlanta Police Department, the victim appeared to have been shot in the left arm but was found alert and conscious. In what seems an act of unintended irony, amidst the chaos, the man was breathing and able to communicate with first responders. He was promptly transported to a local hospital to obtain medical treatment for his injuries. The address 445 Markham Street SW is coming up as the pinpointed location where the confrontation that led to the shooting may have originated.
