Atlanta Couple Charged After Malnourished Toddler Found Wandering Alone and Mother Granted $50000 Bond

A mother and her partner are facing charges after a three-year-old boy was found wandering alone and appearing malnourished outside a home in southeast Atlanta. 30-year-old Lakisha Holmes and 30-year-old Andre Roundtree have been charged with second-degree cruelty to children and reckless conduct. Holmes has been granted a $50,000 bond. Roundtree waived his first court appearance, and it is unclear if he was granted bond, as FOX 5 Atlanta reported.

The child was found late Wednesday night last week by homeowner Roderick Arnold, who reported hearing crying and discovering the child with injuries, including a bleeding foot. The child was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding Hospital, and the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services has been notified.

Holmes said she was at work during the incident and that her brother was supposed to be watching the child. Neighbors reported seeing Holmes searching for her son the next morning…
