ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Authorities detained more than a dozen undocumented immigrants in DeKalb County during a multi-agency operation Wednesday, according to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP).
Officers assigned to GSP’s Crime Suppression Unit, which comprises multiple local law enforcement agencies along with GSP troopers, detained 19 undocumented immigrants during a “traffic enforcement detail” along Buford Highway, a GSP spokesperson said.
Troopers “conducted numerous probable cause traffic stops after observing traffic violations,” which resulted in the immigrants being detained and turned over to Homeland Security Investigations, the spokesperson said.
