Meant to help thousands facing homelessness avoid jail, Atlanta diversion center sees 3 people a day

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – On Thursday, Fulton County leaders turned to law enforcement to help ignite the potential of Atlanta’s Center for Diversion and Services.

“It can work, but it’s going to take all of us working together,” said Robb Pitts, chairman of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners.

Pitts hosted law enforcement from the Atlanta Police Department, Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, MARTA, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, John’s Creek Police Department, Fairburn Police Department, South Fulton Police Department, Union City Police Department, Roswell Police Department, and Clark Atlanta University…
