Marietta Man Charged with Vehicular Homicide While Using Fentanyl

Mahmoud Mohammed Osman, 32, of Marietta, is accused of operating a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado in a reckless manner while under the influence of alcohol, THC and fentanyl that caused the death of a woman at 9:17 p.m. on Jan. 20 at the intersection of East-West Connector and Fontaine Road in Smyrna, according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department.

Osman was driving at 81 mph in a 45 mph area. He crossed over the center median and traveled eastbound in the westbound lane of travel, which caused the collision, according to the warrant.

Osman is charged with homicide by vehicle – first degree; DUI – less safe combined; driving – speeding; driving – failure to maintain lane; driving – no seatbelt; reckless driving; and driving on wrong side of road. He was arrested on May 27 at 10:49 a.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records…
