Suspect in fatal shooting of Roswell police officer pleads not guilty

The man accused of killing Roswell Police Officer Jeremy LaBonte has pleaded not guilty in Fulton County Superior Court.

Edward Espinoza, 23, entered the plea during a hearing before Judge Eric Dunaway. He faces four charges, including felony murder and aggravated assault, in connection to Officer LaBonte’s death.

LaBonte was shot multiple times on February 7 while responding to a suspicious person call outside the Ace Pickleball Club near Market Boulevard. Espinoza was arrested shortly after the shooting. Witnesses at the scene identified him as the suspect…
