Lonnie Robert Williams, a 56-year-old man from Stockbridge, was arrested for allegedly impersonating a nurse while attempting to get a job at Atlanta’s Legacy Nursing Care. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, Williams is facing charges for practicing without a valid nursing license.
Investigators say Williams submitted a falsified nursing license during his job application. Last Thursday, staff at the facility began reviewing the Georgia list of nursing impostors and found his name. The discovery came as Williams was already in an interview for a nursing position.
WSBTV reported that Yvette Wells, director of nursing at Legacy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, expressed concern about the potential risk of having someone without proper credentials in a medical role.
