An early morning altercation on Thursday at a residence on Moreland Ave. SE turned violent, resulting in one person shot and another under arrest. The Atlanta Police Department responded to a call at approximately 6am to find a male victim with a gunshot wound. He was “alert, conscious and breathing” when officers arrived and was quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment, the details of which were disclosed in a statement from the department.
James Harrison, born March 1984, remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement officials. According to the preliminary investigation, the shooting stemmed from a dispute between Harrison and the victim. The Atlanta Police Department have recovered the firearm, used by Mr. Harrison in the commission of the crime, alongside a magazine, and ammunition.
Harrison now faces charges including Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. Subsequent to his arrest, Harrison was taken to the Fulton County Jail without further incident.
