Alpharetta woman celebrates late birthday after returning home from ICE custody

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – An Alpharetta woman celebrated her birthday on Sunday after returning home from being held in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody.

Despite her actual birthday being on May 28 — which came while she was detained — Daniela Landin’s family celebrated her birthday on Sunday after an immigration judge granted her a $10,000 bond on Thursday.

“Today is a day to celebrate the big news, so we’re giving them the space to do that,” said Jorge Gavilanes, Daniela’s immigration attorney. “Then as soon as she’s back at home and established again then we’ll continue the conversation of what’s next.”…
