Austell Man Accused of Trafficking Meth

Michael Bernard Brown, 56, of Austell, is accused of trafficking methamphetamine on June 4 at 3:49 p.m. at a residence at 3713 Heyford Court in Austell, according to an arrest warrant from the Marietta Police Department.

Agents with the Marietta Cobb Smyrna Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant and seized a combined total of about 55.9 grams of individual packaged bags of marijuana within Brown’s bedroom. Also observed were 10 or more large plastic bags which contained marijuana residue and three digital scales containing marijuana residue on them along with sandwich bags used for packaging marijuana, according to the warrant.

While on-scene in Brown’s bedroom, agents observed a clear plastic bag containing methamphetamine in the second drawer of a dresser on Brown’s side of the bed. Agents did a field test that displayed positive results for methamphetamine. Agents also observed 10.3 grams of suspected crack-cocaine rocks in the basement kitchen drawer belonging to Brown.
