Marietta man charged with possessing fentanyl from Mexico

A Marietta man appeared in federal court Monday on charges of possessing fentanyl with the intent to distribute, U.S. Attorney Theodore Hertzberg reports.

Rodrigo Morales-Figueroa, 29, is accused of picking up 10 kilograms — or about 22 pounds — of fake fentanyl during a controlled delivery conducted by the DEA and Homeland Security Investigations.

“Foreign cartels profit from the addiction and deaths of Americans, pushing fentanyl and other dangerous drugs in our community,” said Hertzberg. “Our federal law enforcement partners saved countless lives by working quickly in this investigation, which disrupted a major drug trafficking pipeline from Mexico.”…
