After a prolonged manhunt exceeding two years, the Atlanta Police Department’s Most Wanted fugitive, Jyquez Harvey, aged 20, was apprehended this past Wednesday. Harvey was wanted in connection to the fatal shooting of Julian Kolb, a 20-year-old Georgia State student who was killed in February 2023. The arrest took place thanks to the efforts of the MARTA Police Department. According to 11Alive, officers responded to the incident along Allegheny Street SW and found Kolb with multiple gunshot wounds, deceased at the scene.
The situation unfolded when a man reported to MARTA Police that Harvey had stolen his medicine. When confronted, Harvey was found with the complainant’s pill bottle on his person. It was only after Harvey’s aggressive attempt to resist arrest, which included spitting on an officer’s shoe, that he was detained. Searches revealed he possessed a firearm and various substances, including marijuana and suspected MDMA, as detailed by warrants referenced by FOX 5 Atlanta.
