As of July 1, Dunwoody police officers will see a 4.9% increase in their paychecks. The City Council had approved this mid-year raise back in October 2024 as a part of their steady effort to back law enforcement and amplify public safety. This move not only boosts the morale of existing personnel but also aims to make the force more alluring to potential recruits.
Dunwoody’s City Manager, Eric Linton, highlighted the city’s stance in a statement obtained by Dunwoody’s official news outlet, saying, “Public safety remains the highest priority for Dunwoody’s Mayor and City Council.” Year after year, adding, “that commitment is reflected in our budget. Compensation is a critical piece of the overall package that ensures Dunwoody Police remains competitive in hiring and retaining high-quality officers.”
According to the news release, the adjustment in compensation translates to base salaries ranging from $62,301 to $99,682.
