ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The co-founder of Georgia’s oldest Black-owned law firm has died, according to a statement by the City of Atlanta.
Thomas G. Sampson Sr. co-founded Thomas Kennedy Sampson & Tompkins LLP in 1971 shortly after earning his J.D. from the University of North Carolina.
He had previously graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta. According to his firm, Morehouse awarded Sampson the Bennie Trailblazer Award in 2006.
The City of Atlanta released a statement on his death Thursday, calling Sampson “a legal giant, civic trailblazer and proud son of our city.”…
