‘Talk to our attorney’: Metro Atlanta community scared of losing homes to HOA they don’t even know

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – From grass an inch too long to a leaning mailbox after a car hit it, neighbors in a Metro Atlanta suburb say they’re scared of losing their homes with fines from their homeowners association showing up in the mail daily.

“Who’s walking around being the neighborhood police?” exclaimed Rosalyn Cash. “I’m sick and tired of them wasting their $0.44 cents, I don’t know how much a stamp is now– sending me a letter and telling me I need to cut my grass!”

Cash owns one of 165 homes in the Lester Point community of Fairburn where Atlanta News First Investigates found dozens of homeowners in active lawsuits with their HOA, many with liens on their homes…
