FBI’s Atlanta Branch and Local Agencies Arrest 21 in $5 Million Drug Bust in Metro Atlanta

In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking in metro Atlanta, the FBI’s Atlanta branch, teaming with various state and local enforcement agencies, has arrested 21 individuals following a thorough investigation. Fox 5 Atlanta reports that the collaborative effort led to the seizing of drugs worth over $5 million on the streets. During last Thursday’s execution of search warrants at nine homes across the area, law enforcement discovered a trove of narcotics, including marijuana, methamphetamine, cocaine, ecstasy/MDMA, and THC edibles, some of which were suspected to be laced with the dangerous opioid fentanyl.

The operation spanned several counties and implicated houses believed to be pivotal in funneling narcotics into middle Georgia. The specifics of the seizures, as noted by Atlanta News First, included 76.8 pounds of marijuana, 9.7 pounds of methamphetamine, 13.4 pounds of powder cocaine, 4.32 pounds of suspected fentanyl-laced ecstasy/MDMA, and 15.45 pounds of THC edibles.
