Report: ‘High passenger volume,’ missing parts led to MARTA station injuries after Beyoncé concert

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – High passenger volume and four missing drive belts are what led to several people being injured on an escalator at a MARTA station after people were leaving a Beyoncé concert at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, according to the Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner’s Office.

The Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner’s Office launched an investigation into the failure of the Vine City MARTA escalator following the July 15 incident.
