A man’s body was found in a burning car. He was killed miles away, warrant says

After fatally shooting a man in DeKalb County in late December, authorities said Marcus Overstreet wrapped the body in a rug and carried it to a car outside, according to a warrant obtained following his recent arrest.

The body was ultimately discovered more than 17 miles away after crews put out a vehicle fire in a quiet residential area in northwest Atlanta on Dec. 22, 2024, officials said.

At about 7:20 a.m., arson investigators found Mario Culver in the back seat of the car on Wadley Street, roughly two hours after the gunfire, according to a warrant and officials.
