Austin Brian Strickland, 28, of Atlanta, is accused of trafficking methamphetamine on July 31 at 1:50 p.m. at the intersection of Cumberland Parkway and Atlanta Road, according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office.
Strickland was operating a blue Chevy Malibu in the area of I-285 West and Truist Park in Cobb County. He was observed crossing the white broken line striping on his right two times and the solid yellow lane striping on his left once. When agents conducted a search of the vehicle, they found under the driver’s seat a white plastic bag that contained a gallon sized bag which had one kilogram of methamphetamine inside, according to the warrant.
Strickland also had a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol in his right front pocket. It is illegal for him to possess a firearm after having been convicted in Douglas County on Nov. 19, 2019 of the offenses of trafficking of controlled substances; four counts of possession of firearm or knife during the commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies; theft by receiving stolen property; and criminal use of an article with an altered ID mark – other than motor vehicle, according to the warrant…
