Suspect who shot two MARTA police officers at Five Points station captured in Alabama

The suspect accused of shooting two MARTA police officers at the Five Points transit station late Tuesday night has been captured in Guntersville, Alabama by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive task force, according to MARTA Police Chief Scott Kreher.

Multiple law enforcement agencies, including Georgia State Patrol, Atlanta Police, and the U.S. Marshals task force, had joined the search for the suspect, now identified as 26-year-old Christopher Daniels.

After the incident, Daniels fled the scene and was believed to have boarded a train to the West End station. Kreher said investigators had identified the man and recovered the handgun used in the shooting, which was thrown onto a rooftop…
