CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Tameka Scrivens was found guilty by a Clayton County jury on multiple charges, including Malice Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, Family Violence, and two counts of Possession of a Knife During the Commission of a Felony.
The charges stem from the November 27, 2022, fatal stabbing of her husband, Michael Clifton James, in their home. Scrivens claimed self-defense, alleging that James physically assaulted her. However, evidence presented at trial showed James had multiple defensive wounds, and ring camera footage captured Scrivens yelling at and berating him while he was unconscious on the ground. Prosecutors noted that Scrivens provided several conflicting accounts of the incident.
The trial, led by Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney Jacqueline Broadnax with Senior Assistant District Attorney Breanna McKnight as co-counsel, ran from August 11 to August 14, 2025.
