ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – After a recent escalator failure and double shooting at MARTA stations spurred scrutiny, the transit service’s police department is assuring the public that it’s safe to ride the trains.

Officials outlined MARTA’s security protocols and gave a behind-the-scenes tour of its real-time crime center and emergency operations center at the Chamblee Station.
